Is there a V6 firebird STB
couldnt find anything useful for the birds...
are there any over the counter STB's that will fit the firebirds with the 2.8/3.1? Not looking to buy on, just curious if there is on, and how they get over the upper manifold. Its a bit tight.

Re: Is there a V6 firebird STB
it is tighter in the firebirds since the hood slopes down more than on the camaros. I have a carb/tbi edelbrock one laying around, and its not even close, hits everything, and it doesnt seem that i can get a piece of 1"or 1.25" tubing over the engine anywhere and still be able to close the hood, unless im doing it wrong....

All the V6 birds I can remember working with had bellows imprints in the hood insulation. That little engine sure is tall
Fab your own STB, its not that hard

Re: Is there a V6 firebird STB
thats the plan,
but i was curious if and how i can get a bar across the engine, hence the question. And you are right, there are imprints in the hood insulation for the bellows and the manifold, it all fits pretty snug. I have a idea though.
Not looking to buy one

Re: Is there a V6 firebird STB
The TPI STB won't fit? It is really tight over the TPI plenum & I don't see the fit problem any different than the V6 engine.

Re: Is there a V6 firebird STB
I know the BMR on is a flat plate over the plenum for the thinner section & the UMI one has the plenum area notched for the plenum to fit up in to. Dunno if the V6 is wider or taller
