i need things other than a chip, im already getin one of those. anything else to boost some horsepower that doesnt cost a whole lot

 

A few economical things that you can do are, A high flow muffler (Flowmaster, Dynamax, ETC), high flow cat. (Catco), K&N air filter if you don't allreay have the dual snorkle intake go to the scrap yard and get one (cost is about $11) and hack the bottom of the air boxes off.

Do a major tune up. make sure you replace cap, rotor, wires, plugs, oil and fuel filter (a must), oil, trans fluid, O2 sensor, clean and adjust your IAC and TPS sensor. One thing most pepole over look is the Evap. Take it out and check the filter and replace if it is dirty (this will help with start and idle).

To make sure you are getting enough spark and a consitant spark go after your ignition system. Replace coil with a high output coil of your choice. Rebuild your distributor or a the very lest replace the ignition module with either a stock part or the Holy high performance replacment. ETC ...

In short make sure start with a soild fondation first and then go after major performance boost like cam and lifters. If you have a high milage car replace you timing chain.

You will be surpised at the performance increase you will get by just making sur all the basics are in good running order.
