Leaking antifreeze

Hi. Remember me? Anyways, my camaro is leaking antifreeze from behind the a/c pulley. I was wunderin how to stop the atifreeze from going to the a/c. If there's a way to bypass it. Its pouring out like a river. It doesn't work anyway. Also my tranny doesn't seem like its shifting right. It makes a hissing sound when it shifts. What could cause this and how can i fix it?

Coolant doesn't go to the A/C at all. Where exactly is it leaking from?? Is it near the water pump??

Its coming from the bottom pulley on the left side of the engine. Is the water pump a b*tch to replace?

I looked at it again and the coolant is coming from the center pulley on the bottom of the engine, under the fan.

Most likely its the water pump. The hardest part is getting all the accessories outta the way. Oh and cleaning the gasket surfaces before putting the new one in is also a pain. Otherwise, its a straightforward job. I think KED would recommend you get a new timing chain if you haven't replaced it recently. But I wouldn't want to go that far.

If you look closer, you might see coolant dripping out of the "weep holes" on the water pump. These are small holes located right behind the pulley. When they go, it means the seal in the pump is shot.

Be careful scraping the old pump gasket off the timing chain cover. The chain cover is aluminum; don't gouge the soft aluminum too deeply!

do not forget about the aluminum fitting for the heater hose too. those break alot. cheap aluminum. replacement is steel and costs 7-8 bucks from dealer. This thing is right under the throttle body and drips over the water pump.
