Water pump died on me. What to do for a new one.
Well goto Autozone and as for one.
I doubt they make an electric one for the 3.1, and you dont need the extra cooling capacity anyways. Thats usually for bored motors with huge radiators.

There's no aftermarket pump that bolts to the block. Meziere makes a "remote" electrical water pump that you could put on. (The Meziere electricals have a reallly long life, and can be used behind street cars.) It hooks into your current water pump using AN fittings... you'd take your original pump off, drill & tap these fittings in (for inlet/outlet), and put your original back in.
Of course, the pump's over $300, so it's probably not worth it.

High performance aluminum? I thought all the 2.8 water pumps (even the 82-84) models were aluminum... ?

Does it overheat while driving? If so, is the black air dam underneath the car missing?

Hehe, I went thru the same thing with Pep Boys. The first one lasted 3 months, then the seal went (coolant dripping from the weep holes). The second one leaked as soon as it was on the car- they cross-threaded the pipe for the heater hose, and coolant shot out of a small crack. Finally, the 3rd one's been on there since.. wow.. January '97!
