CompuCam
thats the cam. It sounds a little more then the 3.1. I know I have heard it with an exhaust system and it sounds pretty good. Stock exhausts do everything they can to "hide and muffle" exhaust notes. Unless you got a Rustang or some High Perfromance car.

Nope; there's NO aftermarket performance 2.8/3.1/3.4 V6 cam that's been certified as smog-legal.
But... that doesn't mean the cam won't pass emissions. A few guys on the general tech board told me that a cam affects an engine the same; whether it be for V6 or V8. They seemed to think that if you took two cams, one for a V6 MPFI computer, and one for a V8 TPI computer, and if they had similar characteristics (lift @ 0.050, gross lift, lobe sep), and if they're both "computer friendly", and if the V8 TPI one is certified 50-state-legal, that this probably means the V6 MPFI one will pass emissions.
The reason for no certification seems simple: It's too costly (money, and time) to go thru all the bureaucratic red tape to certify a 2.8/3.1/3.4 cam as emissions legal for such a small market. The V8 market's huge; thats why the companies get the V8 cams certified.

add an aftermarket ignition. the msd & crane cams boxes use multiple sparks at idle to about 2500-3000rpm ( i believe, this should improve emissions, especialyy for those who do the dyno test at like 25-35 mph.
