idle problem
so I'm having a problem with my 87 2.8, the car stalls whenever I pull up to stop lightsand things for more than about 15 seconds. It also frequently stalls out when I put it in reverse. Now I've replaced the idle air controller and hooked it up to a scanner and it wasn't throwing any codes. Any ideas? This problem is getting really annoying...

Re: idle problem
It got a tune up about 7k miles ago. The scanner said fuel pressure was good but how do you check?

Re: idle problem
Hey, it might be possible that you have to relearn the idle. I've had to do it once or twice on my 3.1 (replaced IAC/battery). Some say it isn't needed, some say it helps. Either way, it couldn't hurt so here's the link I've found:

OP, check for vacuum leaks. If the vacuum hoses are original, they're probably degraded to powder. Replace them all after checking with fingers to see if they have deteriorated. And get a fuel pressure gauge. There is NO WAY a scanner would know the fuel pressure at the fuel rail.
