thats a sucky order
that has to cause some strange harmonics in the crank

Past Thirdgen:
86 Trans Am w/ built 355TPI with SLP goodies and too much other stuff to List. One sweet *** car, wish I would have had a good enough Job to pay insurance on three cars so I could keep it, but for a 89 Turbo Trans Am w/ Low miles, I think I made the right choice!

Almost Ryan, you got the sides reversed. #1 is on the drivers side.

Sorry dood, the 60* V6 has #1 on the passenger side. 90* V6's, SBC's, and BBC's all have #1 on the driver side.

I've heard that 1-2-3-4-5-6 is a good thing ... something about a balanced engine ... and that's why people choose these engines for those little dirt track cars.

Nope min is not the same in reverse.

Um the SBC and 90* V6 has that nice cross fire oder so as to bablance the motor better at high RPMs. It is better fro high RPM power.
I have never seen a dirt track class that uses V6's... maybe they dont run them here. So I cant comment on the reasons of using the 3.1 or 2.8. Maybe because they are so damn hard to kill.

To point this out I have to use F0rd as an example. The mustang 302HO has a simila firing oreder, or I should say scheme, as the SBC. Though the Truck 302 has a more ordered firing order like that of the 60* V6. I dunno just seems like the cross the block fire would make more sense at high rpms.
Does anyone know the real reasons behind the order?

How can you say that 165432 is not the same as 123456??? The engines are doing the same exact thing except the 60* V6 is firing from front-to-back while the 90* V6 is firing from back-to-front.
