i normally run around in 3rd gear when on the open roads, and kick it into OD when i get on the highway...or around 45-50mph...but that's just me.

I ussually keep it in OD the whole time, but I do notice that the very few times that I have it in D the car seems more responsive and it kicks into a nice gear alot easier if I want some acceleration. Sometimes in OD if you mash the pedal it doesnt downshift, instead it puts your RPM's right around 3 grand instead of the sweet spot. I think I;m going to start putting it in D more often around town.

yea I kinda try to keep it in OD every where I go, but when I step on the gas sometimes it doesn't down shift and I don't go anywhere. wich is bad when you zipping past a yellow and you romp gas ot hurry and it does sheist for .ya

I keep mine in OD all the time. I had an Olds (87 2.8) and the person who drove it before me only used OD on long trips, and it never liked to shift up into it...
It also shifts into OD before 80km/h, so better fuel economy...

Yeah - OD will be friendlier on your wallet 'cause you'll get better gas mileage. D is more fun.

I can't leave mine in OD all the time. If I did the engine would die when I tried to stop. I'll be damned, I have to step on this extra pedal everytime I want the trans to shift too.
