Welcome to the boards,
check to see if your injectors are hooked up to their connectors.Do you hear the fuel lines pressureize,you should be able to hear the fuel pump come on when you turn the key.If you dont then check your fuse,if its ok then you probally have a bad fuel pump.Hope I helped some

Fuel Pump.
Welcome to the club.
Mine is shot, it await funds for this project.
I'm looking at $400 so far.
All AC Delco stuff, tho & new FI hose.
May be going to a later model tank, for baffles lacking on my 1985.
Fuel pressure.
Find the Schrader valve, go get a fuel presure test gauge, screw in, turn on key.
See what the guage says. I get mine to read 10-ish (it's 45-50 for proper operation). Mine starts, Barely.

85-up 2.8 = fuel injected
multiport = definately fuel injected
I think Ked's got the answer, but some other things to check:
spark
bad MAF sensor (unplug it, try to start car)
timing
TPS adjustment
EGR valve "stuck open" (feel underneath)
