It's how they convert emissions... I could've sworn I had a website tagged that gave the exact conversions. I know a 2-way is CO and HC, I think these are "what result":

2 way = CO and HC --> C2 (Carbon) and H20 (water)

3 way = CO and HC and NOx --> NO2, H20, Carbon

I've learned not to doubt Tom.
BUT..
IF your car is set up for a 3 way CC,
BUY THAT ITEM.

It comes down to how the car was designed by emission team of engine team.

You do not like the exhaust tone?

I like my dynomax , but my converter is gutted and i know if i had a converter on there it would not be as loud . I want to quiet it down some .I drive an hour to school and it just gets old at 70mph @ 2300 rpms hearing VOOOMMMMM" ...lol ...Better than the flowmaster though

Don's Hot Rod Shop
Performance for Power, $59 + shipping
You want the 2 1/2" in & out version.
GET A SPECIAL PIPE MADE FROM THE ENGINE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS to the CC.
Ask Don if he has one that can be adapted for our V-6's
That smother junction pipe will gain ya about 5+ solid HP, thru out your entire RPM range.
AND gain ya as milage
AND gain ya more upper RPM range power.
Let us know how ya do.
Look at your exhaust from the top engine bay (passenger side)..., now to see what I mean.
It's beyond the word restrictive.
I'd like to believe a Hi-Po V-8 Pipe to CC junction set up would be a direct bolt up.

Karl , You know I was wondering if that pipe is adding to the noise . My whole exhaust has been changed except for that pipe .My exhaust manifolds have even been taken out and replaced with new gaskets .That pipe is the original one .Yeah it looks very restrictive and i dont like the way the pipe is routed either . It bends to hard , slows down the airflow instead of making it nice and smooth flow ....Wayne

Look at any "Hot ROd", etc. mag and check out picks for smogged F Body CC junction exhausts.
Edelbrock has lots of pics for that Hi-Po pipe. Don's is in Arizona, a couple of time zones behind ya. 8am=6 am!
See what he says, it's a free call! I've gotten stuff from this guy. I still have his exhaust set up on my S-10 Blazer from 10 years ago!

No, not at all.
The three ways have an extra tube, that send fumes back into the engine emission system.
It's a tube, on the side of the CC.
NO MORE RESTRICTIVE than anything else.
Two way is the fumes in & out of the CC openings.
Go to any muffler shop and see the diff in any pic they can show ya.
