Another question...

Here's the deal-I go to start my car after class 2 days ago and it sounds like I'm starting a kitchen appliance.... Kinda grinding-more whining than grinding though-it does it twice then starts right up-seemed to work everytime if I took it out of gear (it's a 5 speed)-then that theory went out the window today. I don't know what the crud it is-several people have heard it and don't know-any thoughts?

Thanks (sorry that I'm always on here w/ problems and never "helping")

Check the bolts on the starter, one of them is an alignment bolt to keep it properly aligned with the flywheel...when mine moved just a little on my old firebird, it did the same thing, and eventually the bolt fell out and i couldnt start it.

AND IF THAT IS THE CASE, remove the bolt, clean it and install it with a DAB of RTV on it to help keep it in place!
Do the same to the other one, too.
One at a time, so ya don't remove the starter, just remove a bolt and put it back in, the starter stays in place!
