air managment valve/smog pump/...or something
Hey any of you guys out there with the v6 especially the 2.8 ever seen this air managment vale/or smog pump on the passenger side of your car(if you havn't removed it yet)close to the firewall? It has various different hoses running out of it some that go to the air pan housing? Does anyone know what the heck that thing is called. I'm betting that its probably something to do with emissions. Anyhow that may be a general description I gave but I'm sure anyone who has one of these cars knows what I'm talking about, or has removed it for that matter knows. If you do know and have removed it, here is my question: How do you fix it up so that you can get by without it? Because I tried to replace it only to find out it's a whopping $200, this is on a 1984. No way no how. I'll find a way, any input helpful though. Thanx
Are you talking about the air pump? On my 92 3.1 A.I.R. System
Air pump. Off the air pump has an intake filter and output elbow to one way flapper valve. Flapper valve to AIR tube to CAT.
The pump has a valve system on the back/inside of it. You would be better to go to junk yard to get one.
