1) is it a chip or a "bullit hole" the bullet hole can be repaired for less than $30

2)torx wrench or torque wrench?

3) Is the hood loose?, front end allignment, new struts, worn bushings. Maybe the hood is still & the springs in your seat are going

MANY auto parts store sell "windshield chip repair kits."
Follow the instructions, I've never used them. I should, as I do have a small chip in my Firebird windshield, now.
ABout $10-ish.
Torx screw sets are about $20--ish, from varioous parts catalogs.
Get the SEARS TOOL Catalog mailed to you. Call eh closest Sears to find out how.
IT's avery good guide for many prices & special tools for projects.
Torque wrenches as low as $10 (I got a new Beam Torque wrench from a swap meet).
MANY TORQUE WRENCHES FOR MANY DIFFERENT PROJECTS!
For your Torque Wrench answer, you must decide upon "what project will you be working on"?
Then, get that right tool.
IF you are building up your tool box, still get the Sears Tool Catalog.
There are SO MANY TOOLS COMPANYS OUT THERE!
In fact, just go to a local hardware store and browse.
How much does he charge for tools?
Reasonable?

Remember this about torque wrenches, as learned in the service, if youdrop a torque wrench from a distance over 1 ft (unless i remember wrong), it will throw the calibration out of wack. Also MINIMUM, have torque wrench recalibrated once a year.

LOL funny you shoulds mention that, When I was in Navy P/P Shop we would take them and "forcefully" lay them down in front of QA just to tick them off. We never got them outta wack though. Just enough to get noticed.(And on seniors chiefs nerves!)

If you dont care about breaking your knuckles and tearing up your bolt heads get the cheap stuff. Like I used to do
But seriously I dont think you can find any better tools for the money than Sears Craftman tools.
I have alot of SNAP-ON, S-K, and CRAFTSMAN tools and the CRAFTSMAN are just as good as the higher dollar tools.
As for the cheap tools I used to own ,they have a new home at the landfill.

Good point- I used to pick up the cheap stuff, too- never again... unless it's something silly like a hammer or pair of pliers. I got tired of paying once for cheap, and then once more for quality... especially as regards sockets! I like Home Depot's sockets just as well as Craftsman, and both work as well as my Snap On's. 'Course, I'd rather have all snap-on!

Im going to use the torque wrench , or I dont know I might need a torx heh , whats the difference guys ? Im going to be taking my plenum off to take the fuel injectors out (dont know if those bolts need to be torqued back on there or what . I dont know Im kinda tool illeterate , but Im learning and I love it!!!I think I will go with the craftsman tools , they may cost a little bit more but I had some cheap tools , that dont work anymore , Have only had them for about a year . My cousin's hubby (who use to be a mechanic) was telling me with the craftsman tools if they break you can bring them back to sears and they ask no questions , they throw the bad tool in a bin and tell you to get another .
My chip in my windshiled .Well actually I have two , I got one of them today and the other lastweek , thats some kinda luck huh ? Well today i was so ticked off cus it spread 4 inches , but the other is just a chip .Both are bullet hole Thanx again guys ! Wayne

Wayne,
When you go to Sears, take the "new" TORX socket set out to the car.
Take one out & Make sure it fits into the torx bolt.
Torque down the intake?
Yes & no.
IF you can afford it, tho, go buy the Torque wrench.
A beam type is just as good, (IN THE RIGHT KNOWLEDGABLE HANDS) as the expensive ones, also.

i really suggest you have the windshield done at a plce for around 30-40 bucks, do it your self stuff work, but you will not be as happy with it.

when they do it, when your done, you wont even know it was there and if anything happens, guess who gets to fix it for free.

Changing plugs FWD cars.
Wayne.
On our stock 1974 Corvette, NEW, dealer had to put car on lift to get to the passenger side, back plugs. And this my friends was a 350 engine, not the 454 in a Corvette engine bay!
On the FACTORY V-8 Vegas (MONZA, etc), in the 70's, dealers had to disconnect the engine from the motormount, block, lift engine, go replace the passenger side rear plug, towards firewall.
This incident made national news, back then (slow news day), showing the inefficency of the GM cars in the 70's. Reported to the press, incidents like this sparkplug replacment episode, contributed/lead to the loss of market share of American cars in the 70's.

IT MAY BE EASIER TO REPLACE THE FWD PLUG FROM THE UNDERSIDE, by using a wrench on the plug.
JUST MAKE SURE, that YOU DO NOT STRIP THE PLUG HOLE IN THE CYLINDER HEAD.
I did that (stripped hole), on my aluminum engine in my 1963 Buick Skylark wagon. I learned the value of Helicoils that day.
USE ANTISEIZE ON THE PLUGS!!!
Wayne, in 3 years, who knows what you'll be driving!
Buy the "best tools" you can now afford. The "beam" Torque wrench is quite sufficent and reasonable cost. I still use mine today! I have yet to Buy the Click type. I can borrow one, when I do need it.
MANY TIMES, I have borrowed the tool or worked at a place I could "use" that tool.
IF you have primo air tank set up, BUY AIR TOOLS!!!! You win!!
