1990 RS will not flash ECM codes...

My brother's 90 RS will not flash ECM codes. What is the proper procedure to get the codes? (3.1 with auto tranny)

Engine: LH0 3.1L

Just jumper A and B on the ALDL connector with the key in the ON position/engine OFF. Click on the FAQ on the main page and scroll near the bottom. It has DTC retrieval instructions.
