New stock o2 sensor? You may need to get a heated o2 sensor. You need to find out what the o2 is reading.

Check the grounds, esp. the ecm grounds.
Clean the maf sensor.
Do a fuel pressure & leak down test.
Is the engine running cool? You might have to do a coolant temp sensor resistence test.

Re: 3.1 problem rich exhaust!

Did this problem occur before the headers were installed, or was it a direct result of that work?

They sell maf cleaner at auto parts stores, remove the maf sensor from the ducting & follow the directions on the can.

Re: 3.1 problem rich exhaust!

He has a MAP car, read his post.

You have never run the engine without the headers? Where is the O2 located? Is it welded into the headers, or farther down the tailpipe?

Re: 3.1 problem rich exhaust!

Still not clear on whether or not this problem existed before the new headers or not.
If this problem was caused by the header install, then it seems like you need to get a heated o2 sensor.
