Camaro's rule the roads!!

Couple weeks ago me and my buddy had a race ,my Camaro V6 vs. his Mustang V6 . We raced for 2 miles on a 4 lane highway(some traffic got in the way). He got off the line a little faster than me but after a couple hundred yards he was sniffin chevrolet's fumes! The 3rd car, Pontiac Grand Prix, was way behind. Top speed was 120

Racing to the Q-Mart?
DAMN, I WENT TO PENNRIDGE (1974)!
We used to race Rt. 309 ALOT. And Rt. 563, too. Hung out at the parking lot where there is a "Jack in The Box" or "Pizza Hut" now?
Alot of people couldn't keep up to me & my 1966 Corvette, tho.
Triple digits were the norm for me.
Way more open roads back in the 1970's. Way more open roads and slower Cop Cars, too! My High School graduation night, I didn't know I was racing a Cop car (440 Chryslers, then!!) until he tried to pass me the third time! I was wondering who I was racing. I nearly ran him off the road, when I saw his "Smokey the Bear" hat at 100+ MPH! His car interior light "was on!!" and he wasn't using his "lights" when he tried the third passing attempt on my Corvette!
I still have that ticket and my parents never found out.
I miss back there ALOT.
Any snow yet?
Thanks for the memories.

JR. High? or High School.
I went to South.
I was at the High School before they expanded.
Man, how I used to tear around the open country side.
I painted the parking lot asphalt, a little, back then, too. I didn't have to prove very much. I did have the ONLY 1966 Corvette and the only Corvette in my school class. What's left to prove, I did have the best car!
I have been back east to see all around there couple times.

What a stunning change, I guess people discovered the old farm properties & such!
I used RT. 313 for my highest speed run of 115 MPH with a guy.
We hit a bird.
Just saw feathers.
Later on saw the bird.
It was "in the grille of my 1966 Corvette".
Enjoy it back there for me, ALOT!

I lived in Hilltown, over by where the RT 309 Bypass starts. Keystone Drive.
I used to go sledding down that (Fairhill Rd.) hill, before they built that 309 bypass back in 1967 or 1968.
Hung out at the DQ in Sellersville, ALOT & the RS Diner(s), too.
Like, where else do you go, anyway?
My Dad bought my old 1966 Corvette in Lansdale, by the Macdonalds intersection, 1972.
$1,750. Complete, 95% original 1966 Corvette. Yes, that was a bit ago.
Thanks for the memories, again!
Fun times, many hot summer humid nights!!!

what year GP? I can garuntee any GP after 91 or 2 will slowly walk away from you. It's sad but true. My girlfriend is chicken when it comes to races and she'll walk me in our '94 grand prix. it's pretty sad. that's why i'm selling the maro.

Yeah, I'll agree. Any newer Grand Prix will walk all over a stock thirdgen V6.

since the boards ate it, i'll repost it. a grand prix is stronger than our v6, even the weaker ones.

my camaro has 135 hp and 160 tq.
a '94 3100 SE has 160 hp and 185 tq
a '94 3400 GTP has 205 hp and 215 tq

the fwd cars had nothin' on us till gen 2, then they got aluminum heads. then we got fu*ked

Cool. I was in just the Junoir High of Pennridge. The area has developed alot over the years. Quakertown is starting to look like Allentown! It was only a shitty mid 80's GP,4 cylinder .

if it was a 4cyl, then it was a 88-90 LE
quad-4 to be exact. they weren't that crappy. they rev to like 6500 on those GP's. something like 115-120 horsepower.
