kick down cable replacement
Ok i finally give up on retaining my sad excuse of a kick down cable(TV cable), since it little grean clip has broken many times now and my attempt to fix it for good doenst work. Im not sure why every other cable in the TB is metal but this one, a green plastic one.
Any ideas on how to get that plastic clip off and retain the original cable?? Or would anyone know where to get such a part? Im having problems finding one at autozone or any store like that. I like my tranny so i dont wana f it up by having the TV adjusted wrong.
Wana laugh?? The first time it broke i was racing last summer, i though what the Hel*, i though i broke the tranny or burned it up. It was a great sigh of relief that it was just the kick down cable connector. I super glued it back together and was back at racing! I know thats not the propor way but when all your friends are ford guys you dont wana hear any more crap then you already do....
Ive thought of marking where the plastic clip is and then removing it and adding a round crimp on connector, then adding another crimp behide it to make sure it doesnt slip backwards? Dumb idea?? IDK but im not paying 50-150 bucks for a new cable thats for sure.
Any ideas of ingenuity is welcome!!!!

Re: kick down cable replacement
rockauto sells replacement end clips, and whole cables, though I do not know how the clip attaches, but if they sell the clips separately as replacement parts I imagine its doable.
Oh and I instinctively looked this up for my car which is an 85 2.8, but they probably still have it for a 3.1, and there is a good chance its the same part anyways.

ok thanks man, im going to the store in the morning for a clip, i guess autozone sells one that will replace it, all i have to do is carfully clip off the plasitic one then the new ones fits on tightly(its plastic and rubber) and has a crimp at the end so that it doesnt slide back twards the motor.
