Exhaust manifolds

Looks like I need a passenger side exhaust manifold (trying to correct a hack job from the PO) for the 3.1L V6 in my 1990 camaro. I was wondering, would an S-10 manifold work? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Exhaust manifolds

The s10 manifolds didn't have the egr tubing connection like the f bodys did.

Re: Exhaust manifolds

Thanks. I knew I should have pulled that manifold when I saw it in the wrecking yard.

Re: Exhaust manifolds

Someone getting headers would probably sell you a set cheap, unfortunately I am pretty sure I threw mine out.

I'll start looking again once I have some extra cash. Can't really do anything to the car now anyways because it's under a foot of snow....all my projects are on hold till the snow melts. Thanks tho.

Right here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/350466045328...84.m1436.l2649

Comes with all gaskets and everything else necessary... Bolts with springs for the crossover pipe probably won't work, though. Not as cheap as a used one, but you never know what you're going to get with used...

Re: Exhaust manifolds

Thanks! I still have to see how bad the PO screwed up the manifold. From what it sounds like he tried to replace the studs while it was still in the car. Needless to say there is a bad exhaust leak on the passenger side. Hopefully once all this snow melts out here I can check it out and see what really needs to be done.

Re: Exhaust manifolds

Best thing for it is to take it out and do it that way... Drilling those studs out on the passenger's side is a PITA on a GOOD day. But then you risk breaking the bolts...

On both of my manifolds, the studs were replaced (I didn't do it... Either the guy that dropped my engine in did or the PO of the JY car it came from did). And the ones that went in went into holes that were drilled ALL THE WAY THROUGH the flanges, so they kept loosening themselves right through the manifolds. I used 2 nuts on each stud and even that didn't work. I wish I had found this years ago so I could get a new one with an AIR plug (stupid AIR fitting kept coming loose as well and I don't have an AIR pump and never did have one). Only found driver's side manifolds for the longest time...
