Re: cant get these stupid injectors out

once they are turned they can be removed from the fuel rail. the old o-rings are more than likely swollen and causing it to be difficult to remove. pb plaster or wd40 would help aid in removal you can start to rock the injectors while pulling to aid in removal.

twist the injector back and forth as u pull on it.
another trick is to spray a ton of wd-40 or similar oil into the fuel rail

Re: cant get these stupid injectors out

ok, mine was hard as well, reason being is that from them being old and being in there a long time without lubrication and the heat it sorta "super glues" the orings to the fuel rail. what i did on mine was got come pliers and from the neck of the fuel injector i pulled down and they popped off, dont be afraid to push a little, they have taken a beating from being in the engine

Re: cant get these stupid injectors out

Its been a while since hes been back on here, I hope ya got them off man.

When that clip turns and removed...you should be able to rock them back and forth. But they are old and you know that old things can be a real PITA!

But at least the clips on the wire harness will be easy to get out...

Wait untill you try to get the clips back in Not to joke but the first time I replaced injectors on my car it took longer to get those 6 clips back in then to take all the stuff off to get to the injectors. Alot of cuss words and a few beers later..mission accomplished Im not sure if I was just a idiot but I hated putting those things back in(clips)

Well I got the ones I have now for a deal from a guy on here so even though I paid out the A$$ for those a year ago, I figured I'd return the favor. I paid like 200 Bucks for those ones I sold you..LOL.. But you needed them and I got bigger ones for the turbo build for a great price. So its a win win situation

not sure what your trying to do other than start a fire. you cannot use a tire gauge on your an -4 fitting to test fuel pressure. If you want to check fuel pressure buy a fuel pressure gauge Actron CP7818

Takes a few minuets to check fuel pressure, if you start it and drive it also, so as long as you bring the tool back to the autozone. Its basically free rental. Cant beat that. Ive done it and actually they just let me use it in the parking lot and I gave them my ID when I used it to drive arround the block. This was like a year ago, but like I said if you dont have the $$ to buy one, those parts stores that let to rent/borrow tools saved me many times over.

If you have problems with the meter just ask me and vid tape your issues.

Read the directions!! And start with high volts or low ohms when testing things. If it doesnt read then just work your way up or down on the scale. But since this is all 12vts stuff i wouldnt really worrie about the Volts, just set the volts to 100vts on the scale if thats what it has on it.

And for god sakes dont test the amps on anything unless you put it in series with the line out of the load, if you dont know what that is then dont check amps. Or you meter will either pop a fues or just die.

I work in HVAC and use meters(although mine are 300+$ ones and there autorange so even a kid could use them) I use them for literly everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have that same voltmeter, and I am sorry to see someone else bought it. It does not have an audible continuity test. And its really hard to pick up measurements depending on having the pock sticks in the perfect spot, not great for diagnostics .
I finally realized I could unclip the wiring for the injectors so I could life those fuel lines and Fuel rail out, when I was playing with mine, I couldn't get my fuel injectors back on after I played with mine, untill I removed completely from car.

Re: cant get these stupid injectors out

yes getting them back in the fuel rail was the easy aprt for me. lol lining them up and getting them all to fit snugly in there little holes with no leaks whas the trucky parts. lots of twisting pushing yanking walking around both sides fot he car. but as far as the multi-meter i found that it worked great for me. i took the inejctors out of the car soaked them in carb/injectors cleaner over night, dryed them off and shined them up in the morning then were the electirc would hook up i just put one prod per rod lol..mine worked well.

They sell aligator attatchments for some of the VOM probes to help get a good connection for troubleshooting, and alot of meters now have a audiable sound for Ohms. Sometimes you have to actually buy new probes and the aligator attatchment actaully screws into the ends of the probes.

I have a very nice Fluke meter but I only got it for HVAC troubleshooting, but any meter that is true RMS autoranging is a great meter to have, but they are sorta pricey. My Meter kit cost 250 bucks out the door so thats a crazy amount but when you use it basically everyday all day its needed. And the attatchments for clamp on tempeture probes and the clamp on amp meter was another 200 bucks! Freaking amazing what some items cost these days.

Also make sure you always ISOLATE the componet your testing resistance on as if try to ohm your injectors in the future and you still have them connected(which is really hard to do) your reading will not be true, as its picking up resistance.
