2.8 coil

I have a 1987 firebird with a 2.8.How do I swap out the coil, what bolts hold the bracket on?The new one came with 2 straps and bolts so I know I have to drill out the rivets.Any idea how to get this thing off? Thanks

Re: 2.8 coil

IIRC the bracket is bolted on to the exhaust manifold. Once you get that off, you then just drill lut the rivets then bolt the new coil in place and reassemble.

Re: 2.8 coil

don't use that location, relocated it up high where its not being cooked by the exhaust. so you can leave the old one right where it is. Plug wires into new one and figure out a new spot by how much slack you got.

mine is bolted to cowl.
