actually it wouldnt be bad since the pipe is pretty much on the the the lowest inbetween the 2 front tires spindles when u go over bumps the pipe will go up with the car

the biggest danger is road debries like big rocks 2x4's etc laying in the road

Wow, the angle of the oil return line is awfully flat. I've had issues with 2 turbos as far as oil blowing out the seals and they both had a sharper angle for the oil return line then that.

the leght of were his drops down before it turns to the side of the oil pan is what helps.there is more volume on the drop section that allows it to fill with oil and push it into the pan. not the best way to do it but it works

the ds turbo on my iroc drains the same way , it just fills the hose until there is enough wieght in oil to push it threw, i have to run an extra half quart of oil in my engine to make up for what stays in the drain line though

Are you using any sort of oil restrictor or something? It seems like no matter what I did, it never worked and one was a 45* angle off the turbo to a straight hose to another 45* connector into the fuel pump blockoff plate, basically nothing less then 45 all the way there and it still blew the seal almost instantly. Most annoying things about turbos...

neither of us are using restrictors.

how much oil presure is ur motor making
are u using a -3 or -4 feed
-10 drain?
pull off the fuel pump blockoff plate and make sure there is a hole in the bottom of the block to allow the oil to drain back , not all blocks have that oil hole

im also using the fuel pump blockoffplate to return my oil

I still have some half cocked need to build a self contained oiling system if I were to drop coin on a good turbo.

its been done on drag cars before, it works well in that application since the motor only runs for a few minutes at a time, on a street car the oil temps would get out of control, the best oiling system for a turbo is built right into the cars engine period

with a sc oiling system there is way to much that can fail and take out the turbo,

No problem, thats why I made this thread. I wanted to help others out with a first time budget build. Because ALOT of people helped me on mine, and without them I would not have turboed car as I do now. Learn from others when all possible.

I actually printed out all of daves(project89) pictures on this thread when I started to get into my build. Pictures help alot!!
