Timing chain fitment

This friday, I'm going to order a new cam and set of lifters for my 3.1 v6, and my question is if this 2.8 timing chain would fit my car:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-3030/
Part #CCA-3030

I searched this site to see if I can. I know the 2.8 and the 3.1 have very few differences, I just want to make sure the timing chain length isn't one of them.
Thanks.

Re: Timing chain fitment

Ok thank you. And also, do I really have to lift the engine and remove the oil pan like the chilton's manual says? I guess I'd just have to look at it when I get to it.

i know for a fact with the 2.8 u dont have to lift the engine, u drop the pan and rotate the crank and it slides back a lil bit, then u turn the crank and it will drop back some more and finally out .

the 3.1's longer stroke on the crankshaft may prevent that

Re: Timing chain fitment

Thank you again, project 89. When all the parts I need come in, I will start a build thread. My engine is already mostly apart, and my goal is to have it set to where all I have to do is put the new parts in!

No need to touch the pan to take the timing cover off. Even the FSM states to remove the oil pan to remove the front cover, not sure why.
