something wierd
ok so i stopped to get chinese food the other night and shut the car off. car ran fine all the way there and such. got food, went out to car turned key to start car and it sounded like battery died. ya ' know engine crank 2- 4 times, getting slower with every turn. so im like great i got a dead battery. turned key all the way off then back to try to start it again, it started and heard a knock in the engine, turned engine off then started back up and everything fine.

Re: something wierd
do i just clean them with a hard wired brush or should i use some kind of solution?
its happened before and i've noticed that it only happens in cold weather. does cold weather play into a factor with the battery. i ve heard that the cold can drain batteries but then i've heard that sticking like a AA or AAA battery it the freezer replenishes it

Re: something wierd
I'm assuming yours is still a side post, not a top post. Take a look at the cables, the ends that screw into the battery and the battery terminals themselves. If you see any green or crusty build up, first use a hard wire brush to get the most off and then you can use a mix of baking soda and water to eat away the rest (just make sure its disconnected and dry before reconnecting!!). In severe cases you may need new cables or ends, or even a battery. But thats severe.
Edit: if you have the battery disconnected, you may wanna get it load tested to make sure its still strong enough to start in cold weather.
