Re: What brand of muffler

I have a straight pipe(we don't have emissions where I live ) and magnaflows on my 3.1 L. They sound amazing and all of my friends think so too. Before a couple of them knew it was a V6 they thought it was an 8 haha. Performance wise not sure how much it helped.

Flowmaster on mine, but it has a sharp popping sound I don't like. Finally put resonators on the tail pipes to give a mellow deep throated sound.

Unless you're catalytic converter is clogged, you are not likely to have any noticeable performance gain.

Re: What brand of muffler

If you're going to remove the catalytic converter, make pretty well sure that there isn't at least a VISUAL inspection, or you WILL fail. Also, keep in mind that if you end up moving, no cat can possibly be an instant failure upon inspection. So don't do anything like WELDING in the straight/test pipe.

Also, do a for "the best mufflers for V6" thread...
