91 Firebird 3.1 V6 issues. STUMPED!!!
Car was running ok til after having the throttle body & fuel injectors serviced (cleaned). It was misfiring & thought it would clear itself out but as the week progressed things got worst. It then started acting funny when accelerating past 3RPM, it would stall out once it would hit 3RPM. I continued driving it that week (but taking it easy under 3RPM) & one day after driving to the store I shut the car off, went in, came back out & it wouldn't start. So basically it wouldn't start when hot. Came back few hours later & it started up. So after getting stranded I decided its time to take it to the shop.
They replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, all injectors, EGR valve, all plugs, cap & rotor. Car lacked power & I was told timing needed to be set. They set timing, & a little power is back but its not at its full potential, still lacking alot of power!! & its still misfiring (sounds like gun shots when revved) & it stalls out badly if you drive it. So basically its not even drivable & I'm stumped now with no car & even worst position then before. No one can figure out whats wrong & after sinking money into all these parts I dont want to junk it & I am so lost & stumped!!!
Also if you are in S.Florida & have a reputable shop or know of any please help, I dont want to get rid of my bird!

Maybe an exhaust issue, cat may be clogged. I had one that was clogged and the car ran like crap, sluggish and no power. Just a thought if you have not already checked it. Another thing to check would be the IAC, after I cleaned my intake it caused problems with my IAC.

Hmm. Just a idea but seeing that its acting very funny and even dying when its hot, it may be the ICM. The ignition control module. That is under the distributor cap. If you have the time to get it out you can take it to auto zone or somewhere like that and they usually can test it.
I've had a ICM go out 2 times. One time it was flacky and was doing weird things when hot such as misfiring and sometimes backfireing, the second time i just went to start the car on a hot day and it was dead and never would start again.

They need to test the fuel pressure as well as double-check the timing and make sure the spark is the right color (should be bright white and not orange or red).
And also check the wire running between the ignition coil and the ignition module (the 2-wire black one).
