Re: code 15 coolant temp sensor location?

Coolant temp sensor is underneath the throttlebody, yellow wire and black wire leading to it.

But it sounds like it may be the rad fan switch, back of the passenger side head.

I believe these are only locations on the 2.8/3.1, but wait for confirmation for someone else first.

The coolant temp sensor under the TB is the input for the ECM, the sensor on the pass head is for the rad fan switch, there is another coolant sensor on the front of the drivers side head, this goes to the gauge cluster.

The ECM's CTS is at the front of the intake nearly under the TB. It has two wires going to it.

There isn't a fan coolant switch in the passenger head. So don't worry about that, which isn't there.

Thanks for the correction, but what sensor is in the back of my passenger head? unless its only on the 2.8?

Fan switch, on the 2.8's the ECM or the switch can turn on the fan. On the 3.1's the fan is only under ECM control.

Of course there is more to it (on 3.1's), such as having either the engine temperature or the A/C pressure status switch to the ECM telling the ECM to turn on the fan.
