Early (carbed) V6 crank failure questions

I've read many times that the early 2.8 cranks were weak and prone to failure.

Wondering what that failure was exactly?

Just trying to figure out what the heck happened to my V6 before I pull it and tear it down!

They were smaller journals in the earlier ones, I believe oiling was an issue with them. What happened to yours?

It's literally loose. Moves up and down, and no, it isn't the balancer!

Somehow I'm still driving around town in it. Waiting for a rod to come thru the side lol

Well... actually, besides vibrating like crazy, no knocking! I just don't get it.

And no, I'm bowing out to the V6 world. Have a 383 in the shed waiting!
