bypassing heater control valve and retaining heat.

im looking for a way to by pass the hcv valve completely this is the 3rd one cracked in 4 months its gona get cold and i realy want to have heat in my bird since its my daily driver

you can just connect both lines with a pipe fitting. the only problem is hot coolant is gonna be running through your heater core all the time. ive seen a couple threads on this on the site.

is there a down side to that seeing the acy doent work any way when it nice out i just open up the windows and drop the t tops

just go to hardware store and put a brass gas/water valve on the line into the core, [ screw in brass hose barb ends ] only down side is you gotta pop the hood when you want heat or not.

My wagon is like that.

s i plug the hose coming out into one of the hoses then the other hose i run to the radiator ?

u cannpot just close off the line , that line also bypasses water around the thermostat to circulate the water.

take a picture were the heater valve hook sup and ill tell ya what lines to connect together to do it the right way, then in the sumer u can flip the 2 lines so u dont have hot water circulating threw the heater core when u try to use the ac
