Correct oil pressure sending unit for early (carb) 2.8 with gauge package?

83 Firebird base, 2.8 carb, gauge package

Rockauto and the auto parts stores list a slew of different oil pressure sending units in varying shapes and prices from $5 to $30!

Mine... is old. And always reads 80lbs haha

Which is the correct one? Or are they just different designs and it doesn't matter?

Is there a different one for the idiot-light dash cars or no?

I believe the one for the idiot lights is different than the one for the actual gauge.

Thought so. They don't seem to be marked any differently though in the descriptions.

Maybe the small ones are for just the light? hmm

I dunno. Easiest way would be to pull yours and compare it to what the pictures are.

For certain , the one on top of your picture is for the gauge , and the one on the bottom of your picture is for the light . The bottom most picture shows a really slimy gauge sender .....

That bottom pic is the one in the car. You can thank great-fitting chrome valve covers for that one!
