Difficulty of replacing main seals?

Any idea of how difficult it is to replace the main seals in the '83 2.8 v6?

Pretty sure my rear main is leaking oil...

Re: Difficulty of replacing main seals?

make sure its actually the main seal and not the distributor O-ring. it drips oil all over the backside of the engine.

You'll need to pull the trans, and flex plate to replace the rear main in car.

You were correct.

$1.50 on the o-ring, and a couple hours of pain and suffering to get the damn dizzy nut and hold-down back in, and the leak is stopped.

Thank you.
