My 90 Camaro won't even turn over
My 90 Camaro won't even turn over
First things first, I drive a stock 1990 camaro v6. I deliver pizza, and a few days ago I stopped at a delivery location, and when I went to start my car again, nothing happened. When I turn the key, the lights, wipers, radio, etc works fine, but the car will not turn over. I've tested the ignition switch and starter relay with a multimeter and neither seems to be the problem. The battery holds charge fine, and the security light isn't acting any differently than normal. The starter is less than 5 months old. I can't figure this out.
The only indicators I can recognize are that when I turn the key, nothing happens, although the brake light turns and stays on when I do so. There is also a click coming from something in the engine bay. I've attached a picture (not my car) circling the part I'm talking about.

That's the cruise control thing.
Batt cables dirty ? check the bolts/cable connection on the starter also.
Did you put in neutral and try to start? perhaps neutral safety switch is bad. Check batt cables down to the starter, if rub somewhere cb shorted.
Check under dash - you mentioned brake light and cruise control .... there is a switch under there that knocks off the cc once you tap the brake, perhaps that is broken/shorted ?
Just throwing out all possibilities.
Let us know what you find.
