Putting into storage for 12 months - what to do?
Ok, so recently bought a 84 2.8 Auto for my son as a bit of a project car, wont be registering it or insuring for next 10-12 months as we plan on fixing up the paint and interior. At this point I have done nothing to the engine or vehicle since I bought it and was wondering what should I do to the vehicle in preparation for having it stand for 12 months?
I will likely start it up once a week just to try and keep it ticking over but should I go ahead with the full tune up prior to storage or is that just a waste? Any advice would be appreciated

I would change the oil, unhook the battery, and let her sit. If all you're doing is interior and paint then there's no need to really start the car. Although, if you plan to swap out the motor for a V8 then you can basically do whatever you'd like, haha.

also- dryer sheets. I would stick those things everywhere. (interior and under the hood). mice don't like them.

It wouldn't hurt to put some gas stabilizer or Sea Foam in the fuel tank. 12 months storage isn't that long, but "project cars" often take a lot longer than we estimate ("been there, done that, & have the T-shirt"
).
