v6 and the wonderbar

I seem to recall reading about some fitment issues with the wonder bar and the lower radiator hose of a v6. Can't seem to find it in a search though. Anyone have any info on which ones fit and which ones have issues?

Re: v6 and the wonderbar

Will need to check my car but I vaguely remember having to move the hose to get it to fit. Wasn't a big issue.

Pulled mine from a z28

Re: v6 and the wonderbar

Depends on year IIRC. On my 89 with the 2.8 it sat on the bar and was smashed some. Since the 3.1s use the same rad as the V8 you shouldn't have a problem.

If you're near Orlando you're welcome to test fit mine on your car.

Re: v6 and the wonderbar

I put on the TDS bar and yes the hose had to be pushed up a little but it's flexible and was easy to do. Not really an issue.

Re: v6 and the wonderbar

IIRC, you may also have a sharp edge against the hose so you may have to grind that down. I didn't see any way to move the hose on mine.

Re: v6 and the wonderbar

No, the wonderbar is a brace to help keep the front structure more stable and to avoid cracking near the steering box.

Re: v6 and the wonderbar

Yes. You can find them used on the classifieds here, Craigslist, or Facebook. New, they can be had at most any place that sells Thirdgen suspension parts. You will have to check around for prices, I'm sure that they would fit any Thirdgen.

Re: v6 and the wonderbar

just cut the hose a lil short on the water pump side , this make the hose sit higher and it doesnt rub the wonder bar as bad

I believe I got my UMI wonderbar from summit earlier this year for $60. Took maybe 15 minutes in the dark to install with 2 people.
