Box next to POS airbox

whats that damn thing next to my airbox on my 89 bird. I'm putting CAI on it and wanna move that for my KN is that the so called smog pump I always hear about?

Does it have 3 Vacuum tubes coming out of it and an electrical plug? if so then its your EVAP canister. You NEED IT. I bolted mine through one of the many drilled spot welds. I also had a vacuum circle/can mounted under the battery tray hold down. This again got bolted through one of the 14 drilled spot welds.
