timing wire

timing wire

ok i'm at work, got no book with me, and need to know the location and wich wire to disconnect so the ecm won't controll the timing while i put a light on it. i want to advance it a little.

Its the quick connect that sticks out of the main harness loom. Its usually a black wire with a tan stripe. When you stand at the front of the car witht he hood open it'll be on your left just below the top of the cowl, above the heater box.

Yep; on my car, it was "hidden"... I had to pull the harness away from the firewall (in the area Drew mentioned) in order to see it.

yep, sometimes the split in the loom ends up on the back side so you have to pull it back and turn it to the front.... After a good twist or two it usually stays to the front, for shows you can turn it back to give it a more clean look.
