2.8 vs 3.1 Fuel Pump differences?

Well I recently picked up a 88 2.8 stick shift with a bad pump. On my 92 3.1, I have warranty on all my parts including FP. So I was planning on taking the 2.8 pump and taking it in to get a new one for free. But I see some differences between the two pumps. The 2.8 is rated at 50 psi and the 3.1 is rated at 44 psi. The 2.8 is rated at 14vdc and the 3.1 is rated at 12vdc. I'm guessing the 2.8 needs more fuel pressure due to the CSI. If I stick a 3.1 Fuel pump in there would it be an issue?

The latter. Also, they're probably going to be able to tell the difference between a couple year old pump and a 26 year old pump. Basically, don't be that guy.

Yeah I just went ahead and bought the 2.8 pump. They have different part numbers, voltage, and pressures so yeah I didn't want any problems and sure enough it was the pump and now runs good.
