So I just installed my hypertech chip on the 2.8 and runs a lot better. Fixed my check engine lights. I also wanted to reset idle and tps back to factory specs. I still have this very slight delay in throttle response so checked my tps for the first time and the voltage was 0.39 v.
It's supposed to be at 0.54 v correct? So I read up on the subject and I read you can't set the tps without setting the idle first. So I checked my idle screw and it looks like the previous owner was trying to adjust it without success. I have another issue when I turn the car off after a drive and turn it back on it idles real high, then eventually comes back down. I'm pretty sure this is tps iacv related.
So I set my tps to 0.54 v without trying to adjust the idle first, test drove it and it was jerking real bad, bucking bronco all through the rpms. So I set it back to 0.39 v and It ran ok again. So now I go and try to adjust my idle speed screw. Says to ground A-B on the ALDL, turn ignition on, did that. Waited 30 seconds and disconnected iacv. Then turned ignition off, removed the clip from the ALDL and disconnected the timing connector by the blower motor.
Then it says to start the car and then connect the clip to the ALDL again. But I cant get the car to start ?? I tried to start it with the timing connector connected and same thing, didn't wanna start. Am I doing it right. Help me out.

Do you guys think the hypertech chip is not allowing me to set the idle somehow? The fan comes on early with this chip at 185 or 190, according to my very aftermarket temp gauge.
