So I wasn't satisfied with the neighborhood mechanic's diagnosis of my car. Checked the spark with a screwdriver. Nothing... So I begin snooping around the spark plug system looking for anything out of the ordinary. Then I notice this:
One of the plug wire insert things is missing the metal. Could this be my problem?? also, what is the name of this part, when I look up spark plug wires for my car they look nothing like these...
Nope. No spark is usually caused by a bad ignition coil or icm or maybe even a very rusted out pick up coil. That is a spark plug boot protector for the heat.
