LH0 v6 3.1 valve stem seals...
Hello,
I need to repleace valve stem seals on my 91` Camaro RS (v6 3.1 LH0 engine).
What are the dimensions of these seals? I live in Europe and I will try to find the same size seals here, so I don`t have to order from America...
Also I read that I can get 2 types of seals for this engine... One is the stock option and then there are "umbrella seals".
Why are the umbrella seals better? Do I need to remove the valves to repleace stock seals, are they o-rings located inside the valve guides as I imagine?
I really don`t have much knowledge about old american engines... Daily I`m working on new European engines where these seals are on top of valve guides and can be repleaced without removing the valves (just the springs and air in the cylinder to keep the valves in place)
Thank you for help

Not sure on the specs, but the umbrella seals (viton seals) are better for keeping oil from getting down the valve guide and causing smoking. They also sit on top of the guide, but you need to remove the springs, so you have to have some way to keep the valves in place if you are going to keep the heads on the engine.
Use seals like these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/s...t/model/camaro

Hello,
thank you for the information. I think i will use air to hold valves in place.
