I have a '92 Camaro RS 3.1L TBI that I got in November, when I got it, it had been sitting for numerous years, I'm not sure exactly how long. It starts now, but because of how long it was sitting and its age, the vacuum lines have broken or gotten disconnected. I wanted to know if anyone had a diagram for ALL of the vacuum lines, I have found the emission hoses routing diagram from AutoZone but it doesn't have all the lines I need to try to reconnect. Tha k you in advanced.

Re: Need help with vacuum hoses
There's a thread with "all the vacuum line diagrams" somewhere around the forum. Here it is - https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...iagrams-i.html

Look there. If you ave lines you cant figure out post photos and ask, someone will help you. A lot of the diagrams are engine specific, but many of the vacuum lines are for theHVAC system or cruise control, in which case they're universal to the year/make/model of car and not just specific to the V6.

I have already looked at that, all of my broken lines are not on there. I have also looked in a chevrolet service manual for it, but cannot find any diagrams.

Re: Need help with vacuum hoses
If they're not on the engine diagram they're probably for the HVAC ducting in the dash, and the cruise/vacuum reservoir. You'll find those diagrams in the service manual under the cruise control, and dash ducting sections.

I thought that too, but I can see lines that go to parts on the intake manifold and throttle body. I don't know what they do and they are not on the diagram.

Re: Need help with vacuum hoses
Which lines do you need to know about? You'll have to describe them, or post a photo.

You should have a couple on the top of the throttlebody that hook up to the charcoal can and the fuel pressure regulator. Then on the back you'll have a dedicated port for the MAP sensor, a tee with a big port for the brake booster, then the other side of the tee goes to a 3-way check valve tee. One branch goes back to the firewall and runs all the way to the driver's corner of the firewall then comes forward between the washer tank and the fender, then it'll go to another tee where it splits off to the cruise control servo (if the car has cruise) the other goes under the tray to the vacuum reservoir ball. The other branch behind the engine goes to the hardline that goes thru the firewall to the HVAC system. There should be another hard line next to that one, coming back out of the firewall to the heater hose control valve. It's simple compared to early cars. Hmm, I forgot about the one to the AIR pump valve. Honestly I don't remember where that one ties in, but I'll bet it's Tee'd into one of the lines from the throttlebody. Of course I'm going strictly on memory here, and I junked my last 3.1L four years ago, so I reserve the right to be wrong.

Re: Need help with vacuum hoses
Okay, here are some pictures. The first one is the three way vacuum check valve, you can see the input and the two outputs. The one with the 90 degree angle on it goes in to a wire loom which I assume goes to HVAC. Next to where that one goes into the wire loom, there is a broken line coming out, I think this is the heater control valve can you tell me if I am correct. There is also a picture of where the lines go to the front of the intake manifold, not the vacuum source that is in the back by the check valve. It goes to a T connector and then one goes towards the drivers side of the engine and the other one goes to a rubber line that is disconnected I don't know where that goes. Finally I have a little bit of an unrelated question I have a picture of a disconnected connected that I think should go to the EGR valve, but I can't find the EGR valve, is it supposed to be where my picture is. Thanks in advanced
Justin

Check valve from vacuum source and going to HVAC.

Disconnected line coming out of what I think is HVAC harness

Vacuum lines in front of throttle body in the front of intake manifold going to the T that has a disconnected rubber line

Perspective of where the line in front of intake manifold that I am talking about is

EGR connector? Is there supposed to be an EGR valve here?

Re: Need help with vacuum hoses
Yep, the broken vacuum line goes to the heater diverter valve, marked HVAC in the photo below. The big broken fitting on the side of the plenum used to go to the EGR, and the funny connector is also for the digital EGR. Looks like someone removed the digital EGR. They kind of have a tendency to burst into flames, so that's not too unusual. I'd have removed the fitting on the side of the plenum and if the hole in the plenum was smooth enough tap a small freeze plug in there, or grab a piece of sheet aluminum or steel and hack out a block off plate. Or weld up the hole in the broken fitting. If that's open to atmosphere and not blocked with carbon, it'd act like a HUGE vacuum leak. Fortunately Speed Density will tolerate some pretty serious vacuum leaks. If it was MAF it'd probably barely run.

Without looking, the open line on the front of that Tee under the plenum should go down to a valve on the back of the smog pump.

Re: Need help with vacuum hoses
Where is the smog pump, can I still reconnect that line or is that part of the EGR that was removed and I should just plug the line. Am I missing something because I don't see a hole in the fitting you were talking about? Thank you so much for the help.

Re: Need help with vacuum hoses
Try this.... Not the best pic, but it's from about 2006, so.... If you look close you can see the vacuum line to the back of the smog pump. It goes thru the metal clip on the bracket in your pics and there's a whatsit on the back of the smog pump where it connects.

The fitting on the plenum is actually whats left of the EGR tube. Someone just cut it off and left it hanging there.

So because my EGR has been removed does that mean I should tune my ecu I think I have the needed tool from ding EPROMs on my old poker machines

Re: Need help with vacuum hoses
Where should the vacuum lines hook to the smog pump, here is a pic of the back of it.

Re: Need help with vacuum hoses
To say the book is vague, is to be kind. The only time I've dealt with it personally, was stripping the 3.1L from my project car. It caught me off guard when I removed the bolts and it fell off far enough the hose pulled tight, and I had to do a doubletake and figure out why there was a hose on there. That was three or four years ago, and iirc, that smog pump was seized and went in the pile that went to the scrapyard. It's down there somewhere... Probably somewhere near where the hose in the picture ends.

Re: Need help with vacuum hoses
So for tuning the ECM to run properly without the EGR valve does anyone know what parameters I need to change and to what on a LH0 TBI engine?
