White smoke after engine runs for a bit

I have a 1990 Camaro rs with the v6 3.1l and after a bit of running it starts to let out white smoke, the valve cover have been replaced recently and I?ve already checked them for leaks, I have photos of the specific area where the smoke originates and was wondering if anyone?s experienced a similar issue.

Re: White smoke after engine runs for a bit

White smoke is indicative of coolant being burnt in the cylinders. Any leaks? How does the coolant level look? Coolant has a distinct smell when burnt, very sweet and cloying.

White smoke can also be very small amounts of oil burning off, and will be a bitter, acidic smell. Its not really white, more like grey but small amounts will look like white smoke. Heavy oil burning will be black and acrid smelling.

Heavy black smoke on acceleration can also be an overly rich condition with the fuel burning in the exhaust.

It smells like burnt oil inside the car when it starts up and the white smoke is coming from the engine baby not the exhaust and it only really starts smoking from the engine bay after running for a bit
