Radiator Question

Hey yall, just curious if either of these radiators would work in my 86 2.8L MPFI. It says they fit v6s in the description, but it looks like the inlet and outlet are in different spots than the oem rad so I'm kinda unsure. Thanks

Re: Radiator Question

I believe I have the one on the right (it was swapped before I bought the car), and it does fit. You're right about the inlet and outlet being swapped, so you'll have to get creative with hoses. I haven't had any problems, however. I'll go out in the morning and see if I can find part #'s on the ones on my car, and let you know what the PO used.

Re: Radiator Question

Im also trying to find a dual fan cuz I have a single right now, does anyone know of any that aren't too expensive? A universal one would be fine as long as it fits.

Re: Radiator Question

So the bottom hose on mine is a Gates #21830. The top doesn't have any markings printed on it, and the label has been removed. It looks like this, though:

Re: Radiator Question

Ive been trying to find that top hose online and I've had no luck unfortunately. Does anyone else have any idea what part# it is/where I could get it? Or is there some other radiator hose I could use?

Update: Thinking of going with the Mishimoto universal fit stainless steel flex hose, do you know approximately how long your hoses are pirate? Thanks again

Re: Radiator Question

you just need to get the stock hoses for a 90-92 V6 3.1

They use the same radiators as a V8 but have different hose routings and also use the single fan V8 shroud since it is longer when compared to the 2.8 shroud

Re: Radiator Question

Hey, I m new here, so beat me up to bad, please. Just a quick question. I have a 1987 Camaro Iroc Z 5.0 TPI. It has the original cooling fan on the radiator. They do not spin very fast. It runs 240 degrees just driving around, with two pusher fans on the front of the A/C condenser that comes on when the A/C is on. I want to stay with the original look, so is there a better and faster fan motor I can replace them with?

You are better off in the cooling board, but you can get cooling fan motors from a 2002 Ls1 camaro / Firebird... the motors are a bolt in replacement for the stock units on 3rd gens. They should spin faster but require more juice. they look identical to the 3rdgen fan motors. Make sure your air dam is in place.
