Help! My car won't start
This past weekend I went out to start my Camaro, and here's what happened.
It cranks fine. Intake is clean, to problems getting air. Disconnected a fuel line, put key in run. Whoa! Plenty of fuel getting there. Conclusion: no spark.
Sometimes, or almost everytime I crank it, it will sputter like its tryin to start. Hey I managed to get a backfire (scared the hell outta the cat). So basically what I need to know is in what order should I check what. Can someone give me a diagnostic flow chart?
TIA

Check Timing first.
Now, you get backfires! Did you change you plugs?
If there out of order you will get the backfire, and sort
of an air sucking noise. Make sure Wires are in order if so.
If everything is in check. when was the last time you did the
distributor. Rebuild it, it won't hurt, and see what that does.

Oh something I forgot to mention. Before I got the car painted, it was fine. When the car was at the shop, they said they had trouble keeping it running. When I got it back, it wouldn't start at all. Could they hve gotten dust somewhere with all the sanding they had to do?
