aftermarket 3.1 cam and ECM question

when putting an aftermarket performance cam in a 3.1 v6 (or a 3.1 car swapped to a 3.4) dose the ECM need to be modified for the car to run well? I am having a hard time finding any info on this. My dad is looking at a 92 RS with a 3.1. He wants a nice looking and sounding summer car. Dose not need a ton of HP, but more than the stock 3.1 v6 offers is wanted.

The 1227730 $88 mask can be tuned. Might look in the diy tuning section and tuning stickies.

Thank you. I only looked through the v6 section, forgot about the tuning section.

Re: aftermarket 3.1 cam and ECM question

Strongly advise 350 swap. Way more fun, better noise, less effort than tuning a v6.
