What are idle RPMs for the 3.1 V6?

Engine: V6 3.1
Transmission: 5 speed
What are idle RPMs for the 3.1 V6?
My 92 RS with 3.1 V6 idles around 1000-1100 RPMs when fully warmed up. Starts around 1800-2000 when cold. Isn't the idle RPM a bit high? It is a stick shift.

Is your tachometer correct ? Checked for vacuum leaks ?

I connected my smoke pump to the hose by the brake booster. The only smoke that came out was by the air filter. Noting in between. The tach still shows about 1200 as the running (engine warmed up) RPMs. To my ear, the car does run at high RPMs so the tach could be correct but I am not an expert. Any other ideas?
