Trying to bring 91 v6 back from edge of grave

Got this for free 4 years ago. It sat for 3 years before I got it. I started it from time to time, but then last november it wouldn't start. Started working on it again and found out my pickup coil was bad. Anyway it runs again. I drained most of the gas out when i got it, and added a couple gallons. Drove it up the road and it does shift ok. Rides rough due to tires being old and probably flat spotted.

Went ahead and changed the oil and added 5 fresh gallons (it was down to 1/8) and pondering going ahead and getting it registered. Also will need to get new tires, or borrow the set off my 89, which is my daily atm. Driver's window doesn't work, and passenger only goes down an inch and then slows to a stop, but I guess I can deal with it now that it's getting colder.

I think I did the spark plugs when I got it, but can't remember for sure. Air filter is clean. I want to start doing some trips into town for now and work the newer gas through it.

Now that I think about it, I might have posted about getting this back when I got it. Anyway, the 89 is getting bad, and I'm hoping to make this a new daily before I cave in and buy another car.

Sounds easily fixable as long as rust is minimal.

Not any rust that I've seen. The factory AM-FM cassette deck from my 96 chevy truck plugged right in and works, so I have radio at least. Cassette doesn't work. It also doesn't seat in deep enough, so the outer radio/climate control cover doesn't seat completely.
Big problem now is that I found there's a keyed lugnut on each wheel, and I can't find the socket anywhere in the car. It's not something a universal socket fits. I might end up welding nuts onto the lugnuts to get them off if I don't find a 12point I can hammer on tight enough.
Also had to order an odometer gear repair kit. I remembered now that I pulled that apart for my other car and found out the gear was stuck solid and breaking apart. Also cleaned it up and tried to seal up the t-tops with some electrical tape.

A T-top third gen with minimal rust is sure a worthwhile project. And the 91 engine is an upgraded 60 degree motor too. Once you get it sorted out it should be a good driver.

Hey coolrimsatleast. I am just down the way from you in Toledo, WA. I have owned my 92 Camaro since 92 and have in the neighborhood of 480,000 miles on it so it is possible to keep them alive a long time. I have literally had everything apart and back together over the years. For parts, All American Classics down in Vancouver, WA is your friend. Its the only place I have found anywhere with many thirdgens. You basically sign in when you get there and go search in the lot for what you need. The searching is easy as all the Camaros and Firebirds are in one location. When you find what you need, they pull it for you (you are not allowed to DIY part pulls). They will even cut out patch panels from donors if that is what you need. You might be able to get the correct radio from there but if not, I might be willing to part with my old one as I changed from the factory cassette version to the factory CD version quite a number of years ago. They only issue on the radio is that mine being a 92 Camaro the lettering is yellow instead of white. Hope this helps.
