Need Advice ASAP, PLease!!!
I am looking to buy a 1988 Firebird GTA. It has the 305 TPI, 5-Speed, T-Tops, Digital Dash, WS-6 Performance Suspension, Leather Interior, 16x8 GTA Rims. It is a nice car. It needs a lot of work on the inside though. A new T-Top headliner, visors, probably new carpet if it cant be cleaned, reupholstered seats. I drove the car and it pulls like a train. It is fast. It drives very well and the motor sounds great. No noises, no obvious oil leaks, no shaking, nothing. I know I can talk him down to $1300-1500. He said he is not looking to get rich off it. What do you think, should I go for it or not? Thanks, please reply ASAP!
Though, I am not getting rid of my V6, I will never get rid of my V6.
~Thanks, Josh~

Yeah, you should deffinetly buy the car. Customize the interior, put in racing seats or leather seats or just stock seats from a GTA. Its deffinetly worth it for $1300-$1500 for almost any firebird that runs and drives good

I'd get it. There's a 90 firebird 305 auto over here for sale I know of, but it's about 3000 I think. Doesn't have t-tops either. I don't no if it's tpi or tbi. gotta look I guess. I'd love to find a deal like you have though.
Walk up to the guy and lay down 12, $100 bills.
search for the 13th, make a "phone call for the 14th", give in if he wants 15, $100 bills.
The more proper factory stock the better. It's now a serious collectors item! It will ONLY go up in value, BIG TIME! Not as much as a 350 engine, but, you've got big desired options.
Incidentially, you still sitting here reading?

Well, I know you are all going to think I am crazy and probably not going to like me after I say what I am going to say. Though, by now you probably can guess what I am going to say. Well, if you have guessed it you are right. I will probably kick myself in the butt later on down the road but I will forgive myself. If any of you want the number I will be happy to give it to you. I hope all of you will still talk to me after this,
Thanks for all the advice though, I really appreciate it!!!

Why the decision? Did your mechanic dig something up?
It wouldn't cost too much to re-do the interior. You can even find front seats in GM's sporty FWD cars, like the Grand Am's. You swap over your seat rails onto the Grand Am's seats. I found my original seats (Trans Am seats) in a Pontiac 6000 Station Wagon SE!
http://www.1aauto.com has ACC carpet (GM authorized reproduction) for $109. I bought one & put it in... not the worlds most easiest job, but it wasn't "technically" hard, just a lot of work. Also, it was the same price as the no-name JCWhitney carpets!

Sorry for taking awhile to get back I have had a lot of work going on. About the GTA, my mechanic took it to his shop. I didnt get to go over there though but he said not to get it. He told me something about a few leaks underneath of the car. I dont really remember what was leaking, but he said for me not to buy it and he has never steered me wrong. I trust him to the fullest extent. Though, I do want to look for a 1987 Z-28 instead. Thanks for all the advice guys!
