Forged Pistons???

I have an 89 with the 3.4 swap in it. Do I have forged pistons? If so does that mean I could throw a 75 shot of juice at it?

you should be albe to shoot a 75hp shot without having forged internals. A stock block can run those.

I never heard of the 3.4 block's pistons... Karl (KED85) might know more about that, but do I agree with 85f-bird...

75 is usually considered a pretty big shot for a V6. Though 50 is usually considered safe. Nitrous is safe when used with the right about of fuel. Keep the fuel coming and the nitrous will work.

You won't have to worry so much about throwing a rod as you will your piston rings and pistons.

My GM parts book makes NO mention of the compostion of the pistons.
Needless to say, you & I know they'd be cast.
Ask the Nitrous manufacture for their recomendation.
I WOULD SAY make sure you fuel pressure is in tip top shape.

That answer seems to be offered here the most.
It's safe & fun
I'd like to try it for fun, make my 3.4 engine break the 200HP mark!
That would be as much delivered horsepower as my 1974 Corvette, from the factory.
Makes less, now, I'll bet w/135,000 miles.
Still runs real strong, that's a Chvey V-8!
