You guys ever saw this ? Im not going to purchase this , atleast anytime soon .But just wonder what you guys thought about this ?

 

Yeah, it's been around; basically, the thing fools the computer into thinking the throttle's open more than it is. It's supposed to give the computer some "lead" time into WOT. Say you're at 1/2 throttle, and you start flooring the gas; this thing might tell the computer you were at 5/8 throttle, and push you to WOT a bit before you actually opened the throttle all the way.

Some cars commonly involved in accidents were investigated for a certain technical name... I don't remember the exact name, but it was something like "quick start". The theory is that the car accelerates too quickly from a stop for someone to control. When a car was tagged as having this "problem", the computer would have a delay put into it. This delay would slow down the reaction time between physically being in WOT and the car acting as if it was in WOT. It's a pretty BS claim, since the "quick start" lies more in the fault of the driver than the car, but once the government gets involved because some kid couldn't control his car, weird things happen. This Casper module might help out such a car. The f-bodies were investigated for this, but they escaped!

So, not many people have put it on; if it was $20, more people might try it, but it does the same thing a "quick foot" does.

I wonder how much time this would shave off the 1/4 mile? and if you cruising at 35-40 and a riced out civic pulls parallel to you how well would you be able leap ahead

ha ha ... joke... idk about you but in NY the ricers are tougher than you think- as a 17 yr old kid I am the only person i know who would rather ride in muscle than mom and dads old tool to work. dont get me wrong i love my bird but it is just the slowest thing ever. off the start i couldnt buy my way infront of the" last and the hurriest" wanna-bees - im tired of being embarassed- i dont have the funds to dump money into the car right now and at 144k beating its baIIS isnt the best thing for the bird- death to all the plastic armor wearing, weed whacker sounding ricers!

 

Finally someone else who can admit that a V6 thirdgen is slow as $hit. I can't believe when I hear people say theirs is "pretty quick".

I know exactly how you feel. What I want from my car is a DECENT performer that's FUN. Well my 156K 3.1L isn't decent enough and the 4 speed slushbox 700R4 isn't fun. The T5 will be in around summertime.......but the 3.4 swap has yet to be determined. Hopefully it'll be a truely fun car then.

 

i know a lot of guys swear by the v6 and love making em beef up byt- i think the best way to gain performace is get a v8- for time and money you spend on making your 6 have 220 + hp you could get a v8 w/ 350+ hp easily- now im not about to get a v8 cause i only make 6.50 per hr. but eventually im gonna get rid of the 6 and go with an 8 -i mean lets be realistic here -=

Sure are cars are not as fast as the TPI's, LT1's etc. I am greatful that I have a fbody they look awesome. Mine will kill alot of V8's; sure I wish I could buy a supercharger and crap like that, but it's not gonna happen. Just be glad out cars dont look like ford probes and all that other crap out there. Personally chics could care less about what is under the hood the only thing they care about is who is in it and if the car is cool. Only grease monkeys care and complain about what is under the hood. So if your cruising around trying to pick up red-necks or gear-heads, complain all you want or else lie to them when they stick there ****** in your car and they ask you "ey dare id dat a tree fidey under da hood!" Who; cares what size of engine it is!!!!! Girls or necks? Hmmm I'll take the girls! Enjoy the looks and make the best of what you got, thats why I have and really enjoy my car. for those of us who are not literate i said in the post above- 350 + hp as in horsepwer not engine size - - and maybe for those of us not in high school its about whos on the inside not the looks but since we live in different worlds lemme tell you that its pretty hard trying to get laid with a ford tempo- and i'll agree w/ya that it is fun making it look hot -but its not fun when your hot looking bird gets its face washed cause people assume its an 8 cyl. my moms 99 sable has 200+ hp for a 4 door and kicks my ***- how fun is that?

Well this has to be one of the most enjoyable threads in a while...


Anyway BACK TO THE TOPIC, I have heard of Casper Electronics, never used any of there stuff, nor have I heard any feed back from people that have. So if I were you I'd stick to the stuff we have feedback on. IE MSD, ACCEL ect...

And I have a 3.1. Is it slow? Well it beats 305 TBI's all the time. Even a few of the older carbed Rustangs when its in a good mood. Is it fast? lets see. Well I have not took it to the track but I know it beats cars that go 17 sec 1/4's so I would venture that it's high 16's. Now are there things faster? DUH, yes there are. There IS ALWAYS SOMETHING FASTER THEN YOU. PERIOD. I have owned 350's 2nd gens that I built up a little, one was around 400/400 and yes it was a pretty "quick" car. It did Low 15's-high 14's. Fun on a straight away, but hell in the turns. It handled like a overstuffed pig on stilts!. BUT it was a fun car to drive.

Personally I like this little 3.1 of all the 3rdsand 2nds that I have owned. ITS A VERY FUN CAR WITH THE 5 SPEED. It loves to rev, and revs fast outta turns. If the road is twisted I CAN beat a few 305 TPIS, cause they have to back off through the turns. I DONT. Thats were I win, straight away I'm dead. PERIOD.
With the few free mods I have done the car has responded VERY well. I do have headers on the way(for limited production) for all, along with myself. I also have quite a few other ideas that will get me ever closer to my goal of 280 HP N/A. When this is acheived I will swap in a 4.3(Notice its STILL a V6?) but this will be a V6 that will challenge ANY V8 on the street. AND get respect.

I have a 305 91 t top too. Will I convert that to a V6? NO. It will stay a V8, but it will also be built up to handle 350's. To many details to list.

I also do not care for people that come into the V6 board and trash the V6's. A certain moderator is known for this as well. I tend to ignore these people and well... I am not the only one ignoring them and then all the sudden they need help with something, quess what? there not gonna get it here!.

The moral? If you wanna come in and run your mouth go ahead, you will find yourself being put on peoples ignore list VERY FAST. Then when you actually need something, no one is listening anymore and your SOL.

If you wanna go somewhere to talk tech, get help with probs, find out what works on the V6 to make power, find people doing custom stuff simply because people have asked for it then come on in and you'll get all the info you need.


I forgot the camaro and getting laid bit... of the 3 or 4 (I forget) 3rds that I have own(ed) I have only gotten laid in 1. The 2nd gens were more lucky for me several times in/on all 5!. Not much of a back seat but boy does a warm hood feel good on a chilly evening!

Coming from the pioneer of smack (bonjovi vs. Hunter) I really think some of you are getting a little too personal and too nastey. My two replies were ment to tell all parties involved it is just an engine. No pun intended. Now my girl take was great, but I think we got the wrong idea here.
