Opps , forgot about this , and I need to get it fixed !

The wire that hooks up to the throttle body , well the top one , where the little plastic thing is that holds it on broke , its been like this for about 3 weeks .I forgot to fix it ! .I know this is a dealer part .But is this hard to fix ? It looks easy to put on , But how do I get that little bar that that keeps the plastic piece from sliding off taken off ? And how do I put it back on ? Thanx guys !

Post a picture or look in a manual and tell us exactly what part is broken. If its the plug on a wiring harness you can get the parts of the wiring harness from any GM dealer, or from some parts stores. If its a sensor you'll need to replace the sensor.

Woah- you talking about the transmission cable? The TV cable? You've been driving around for weeks with it unhooked??? Sht!

The TV cable attachment looks like a green (or yellow) triangle. It clicks onto a nub on the throttle body linkage.

The triangle can't be removed from the cable. You'll need a new TV cable- or , a junkyard one. The TV cable is held on to the trans with one 10mm bolt. When you remove the bolt and lift up, the TV cable center is attached to the transmission's TV valve by a little metal linkage wire. Unhook the cable from the linkage. Then, pull the TV cable out thru the top of the engine. Yes, you'll have to unbolt the adjuster from the plenum.

I'd suggest cleaning the transmission around where the TV cable enters it. (This is on the passenger side, right above the trans pan, towards the front of the transmission pan.) This way, dirt won't fall into your transmission.

Replace it quick!!! If you have to, you could jury-rig a paperclip to hold the broken TV cable to the TB linkage. Loop the paperclip so it pulls against the broken plastic of the TV cable, then loop the other end against the TB linkage. You'll have to bend the paperclip to make it a snug & secure fit.

That may be the cause of the shifting problems in your tranny

Well , I rigged it up with a two paperclips . One would have worked ok but I went ahead and did two b/c I wanted to make sure .I drove it around ( about 5 miles ).No trouble at all !!! I was getting worried I was going to have to get my tranny rebuilt sooner than I wanted to . I still do need a rebuild .My converter is locking up sometimes real bad . I loose a quart of fluid every week now !

TOM , your ideau about the paperclip was great !!! But , its only temporary till I fix it ...I think Im going to go to the dealer and get a new one .
